The City of Charlottesville is only about 10+/- square miles located in the north/central portion of Albemarle County VA. Charlottesville has its own government entity and in some ways functions separately from its surrounding Albemarle County. The University of Virginia is located in Charlottesville, as are many other businesses and hospitals, and as a result there is demand for properties within the Charlottesville boundaries. However because of its relatively small footprint, some of Charlottesville’s suburbs can be researched if you start with the Albemarle County search map links … the Albemarle search will include unincorporated areas near Charlottesville.
